The Association, with the funds raised publicly, extensively explores co-operation areas, positively supports establishments in village communities.On the basis of conserving the environment & cultural resources of Tibetan communities, the Association effectively resolves the conflicts of development & conservation; modifies the economic development modes that damage the environment; encourages the communities to conserve while developing & to develop while conserving; elevates the communities’ ability to conserve bio-diversity & cultivates the communities to be the effective masters of promoting local sustainable development in the areas of ability, organization & policy.

The environment education motor vehicle“Green Dissemination”

 

Based on the grassland nomads & herdsmen’s scattered homes characteristics, we made use of the multi-media automobile to go deep into the grassland communities to disseminate traditional ecological knowledge, to promote fine ecological ethical culture, to publicize the related legislation & rules, to induce the people to realize & understand the local environment & its development problems & to elevate their ability for environmental protection & sustainable development.

In Dec 2004, the Association launched the environment education motor vehicle project.Up to 2006, the automobile has gone more than 10,000 miles & has propagandized in the Tibetan communities in Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet & Gansu.We went into tents & homes to propagate the special characteristics of the environment in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, its various life types, diversified cultures, delicate ecosystem & knowledge on their conservation.We also publicized the ethics & morals compatible with the ecological culture & environment of Qinghai-Tibet plateau; national & international rules & policies related to the conservation of varied life types; showed examples of environment disasters both in & out of the country & examples of environment conservation; procured the local people’s resources management abilities & their awareness of their rights to resources; elevated the participation of Tibetan communities in environmental protection; invited various sectors of the mainstream society to the natural environment of Tibetan communities, to participate in the activities for learning, experiencing &conserving fine traditional culture & natural environment.
