Green Community Network

We set up green village communities in different Tibetan communities of the 3 great rivers sources (places where Tibetans gather, such as monasteries, villages, herdsmen’s hut, primary school tents) to encourage the communities to cherish environmental protection, to participate in formulating policies that relate to their livelihood & production, to explore development modes that comprise characteristics of native communities. The development modes should have fixed number of conservation personnel, conservation system, conservation content & conservation results.Longterm exchange, learning, collaboration, sharing & elevation should be maintained among the communities to enhance the sustainable development in different village communities.

In 2002, the Association launched the ”Green Community Network” project. This is a long-term project in which the Association sponsors the Tibetan communities’ sustainable development. We have set up networks in Caochi, Diqing & Caikong Temple etc. With these networks as examples, the Association will promote the project in other communities in the 3 great rivers sources.
